Instability is something that characterizes the 2020s of this century, the era of carefree peace and security seems to be over. Pandemics, climate change, war, economic and political instability, migration and inflation make the world increasingly complex and unpredictable. For more and more people this is the reality and it is getting pretty close.
What starts far away can hit us faster than we expect. During the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, supermarket shelves were emptied faster than they could be replenished. This situation was short-lived and could be resolved quickly, but it gave a realistic picture of an emergency. During situations such as a major natural disaster, war or cyber attacks, the effect on the transport of food and the availability of electricity will be enormous. Such a situation would be extremely chaotic, it would be impossible for emergency services to support everyone.

We came up with the name Klaar voor nood (Ready for Emergency) because it can be a company name and a statement at the same time. When our plan was finished, we were ready for an emergency and therefore ready for emergency. It is something you can say when you are convinced that you are well prepared. That you are able to take care of yourself, your family and the people around you in every situation.
The squirrel with its nut is a reflection of what we do. Gathering necessary products for the hard times to come. A squirrel gathers its nuts in the summer for when there is a shortage in the winter. The squirrel is ready for need.
We would like to help the emergency package that has emerged from this into the world to make as many households in the Netherlands as possible self-sufficient in an emergency. Because the package itself will never be sufficient for every situation, it is important that everyone thinks about their own personal situation. Medication, special food or other specific items must be added to the package themselves. The 72-hour emergency package is the foundation of a good plan.
